Anime
The anime side of the franchise follows the story of Subaru and War-Rock, but in a less friendship-oriented way, and in more of a "battle of the week" format. Each of the FMians have their own mini-arcs. The anime storyline also rearranges some of the events; for instance, Subaru doesn't get the Star Force until he's gone through all the FMians at least once. The roles of the various FMians also has changed, such as Cygnus taking the leading role during the middle of the initial series, instead of the FM King arriving.

For the storyline of Ryuusei no Rockman 2, there is a second anime: Ryuusei no Rockman Tribe. It begins on November 3rd and takes place two months after the ending of the first anime.
