You've reached the home page... the site is designed to work with Firefox 2/3 and Chrome but can also be viewed decently with Opera 9. Not sure, nor do I care, what it looks like in IE. You shouldn't be using such crap browsers anymore. ;o (Let me know if it looks bad in Safari or random other non-IE browsers)

November CoroCoro info
[4 comments]Posted by GSR on 10-13-2009 at 05:44 PM

November CoroCoro hit the net today, but there's not much to say:

-ClockMan's scenario involves him kidnapping Roll and Harp Note.
-Some part of the game takes place in Geo's time, as there's a cutscene of him, Goodall, Luna, Bud, and Zack at WAZA just after Harp Note gets kidnapped.
-Somehow Mayl gets mixed up and thinks a blue navi kidnapped Roll, which likely leads to the fight with Geo.
-Bass/Forte is playable in the "Rockman Colosseum" minigame.
-RnR Rockman gets a battle card, labeled as SS Rockman, chip code code S.
-A new EXE Manga will start in one of CoroCoro's sister mags, following Rockman.EXE and a new, unnamed operator (boy with red hair.) Speculation says it's Patch, Lan/Mayl's son, but that's just speculation.

EXE OSS TGS Roundup
[4 comments]Posted by GSR on 09-26-2009 at 10:21 AM

With TGS underway, there's been some more bits and pieces about EXE OSS floating about:

First off, there's a few new screens, mostly of EXE Rockman and RnR Rockman in battle.

The Mega Man Network also took the time to subtitle the TGS trailer:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_x-HbyQ5ce8

At the OSS presentation, the producers confirmed that the double-Rockman attack was a PA, and that RnR Rockman gets his own special chips to use as well. RnR Rockman becomes playable after a certain point in the game and "when Lan and MegaMan get into a pinch", though it's unclear if that means you can switch freely or if RnR Rockman takes over during story-set points.

The games catalog handed out to attendees marked EXE OSS as being "90% done".

One lucky fan got ahold of the demo and reported his impressions:
-The opening animation sequence to OSS is similar to BN5DS, combining still images.
-Recovery causes the screen to darken, pausing the battle (as it did originally)
-Long Sword does 100 damage (it only did 80 in the original BN)
-When playing as Star Force MegaMan, you press X to lock on, and hold B for rapid fire. The buster likely will auto-charge.
-Star Force MegaMan’s shield cannot be used repeatedly
-Aside from the title music, none of the game’s music is arranged so far (but there’s no reason to suspect it won’t be)
-When operating Star Force MegaMan, the music changes to his theme song
-For attacks that pause the game (such as Navi chips), damage is calculated as the attacks progress, as opposed to being calculated after the screen undarkens
-The degree of difficulty for minigames during scenarios has been adjusted
-Details on the MegaMan Star Colosseum: Players are divided into two teams and compete for stars. You select your player and desired rock-paper-scissors attribute. For opponents whose rock-paper-scissors icon is weak to yours, you can attack them with A to steal their stars. You can also touch your allies to give them stars. There are items on the field to change your rock-paper-scissors attribute, as well as other items such as bombs, pitfalls, and speed-up ability. These are activated with B. You can lose items by being attacked. The map also has gimmicks such as vanishing platforms. At the end of the game, it announces which team is victorious by catching the most stars, and then shows individual stats.

Finally, series producer Takeshi Horinouichi had this to say about the EXE series as a whole:

“Rockman EXE Operate Shooting Star will go on sale November 12th. Though the series wrapped up three years ago, thanks to the players Rockman EXE is able to sell once again. Furthermore, as we approach Rockman’s 25th anniversary, I’m thinking of what I want to do with Rockman EXE.”

They've yet to show off RnR Rockman's custom screen, but the trailer has footage of a battle against ClockMan (with both Rockmen present).

EXE OSS to use EXE Battles; new screens
[8 comments]Posted by GSR on 08-30-2009 at 01:52 PM

Online retailer Rakuten has put up some screens of EXE Operate Shooting Star, and they confirm the answer to the big question: EXE OSS will use a version of EXE's battles. The image also shows a new mugshot for EXE Rockman.

The description also mentions the addition of several mini-games to take place in the "Rockman Star Colosseum" - whatever that is.

EXE OSS Website Opens Properly
[1 comments]Posted by GSR on 08-21-2009 at 10:36 AM

The EXE OSS website has properly opened, and is now host to a bevy of screenshots (mostly just the ones from Famitsu) and backstory on the EXE and RnR universes. There's also a developer's blog.

The screenshots section also provides some information on ClockMan, saying he aims to change the course of history.

No information on the battle system or online play has been given.

It also shows what happened to Clark of the RnR3 page - he's been sucked back into the OSS page and now provides info on the RnR section thereof.

Another small OSS storyline hint
[4 comments]Posted by GSR on 08-17-2009 at 11:53 AM

The Ryuusei no Rockman 3's Satellite Server page has updated again with a message from Clark, the Wizard in charge:

A while back I mentioned something about a “program that can control time,” but it seems like they somehow completed a prototype!

Then, Ace comes to me and asks of all things “Clark, if you’d like, would you want that program installed in you?” It seems to be for data collecting, but to get a program like that installed… I get kind of a special feeling. Hmm, but why would Ace choose me?

The OSS website has yet to update, and no indication of what sort of battle or gameplay systems are in place has been given.

UPDATE 8/19/09: Another message was added:

At last the day has come that the prototype “Clock Program,” a program that controls time, has been installed in me!

I sought the reason why Ace chose me for this, and he said “Whatever happens to you, Clark, it’s fine,” which makes me feel a tad uneasy. But if it’s to assist the Satella Police, I’ll bravely go forth… Eeeyah!

*Bzzz-bzzzt! Bzzzzzzzzt!!!*

Err? What’s this turbulent air…?

*Bzzz-bzzzzt*

Wh-what’s happening!? What the heck is that warp hole-like thing… I’m… being sucked in…. Oo..ooowaah!!??

*Bzzzzt, bzzzzz-snap*

The OSS website has yet to update.

New info on EXE OSS; Subaru playable, other RnR characters appear
[2 comments]Posted by GSR on 08-07-2009 at 11:19 AM

Protodude and Heat Man have tracked down this month's CoroCoro, and with it comes news on EXE OSS.

The most eye-catching feature is obvious: players can control Subaru as Rockman and play as him as well, though other details on this aren't clear yet. Misora can also be seen as Harp Note in one scan.

The scans show that the game uses EXE1's graphical style, while adding maps to the internet.

The scans also reveal that among the new characters is "Clock Man", presumably the Navi version of boss contest winner Clock Genius, who hails from RnR's time period.
